Scholastic Reading Counts inspires independent reading, guides instruction, and tracks reading progress. Using the software, students generate reading lists based on their own Lexile level and interests. They can choose from a wide variety of topics, including animals, sports, science fiction, history, humor, and more! After independently reading a book, a student takes a computer-generated quiz. They demonstrate completion and comprehension of the book by correctly answering multiple-choice questions. A personalized congratulations screen appears for passing it. If a student does not pass a quiz, he or she can revisit the book and retake a quiz with a different set of questions. A student may attempt each quiz three times total. Up-to-the-minute, data-driven reports help inform and differentiate instruction when a student is struggling and needs intervention.Students read more and become better readers using Scholastic Reading Counts! In addition to reading great books, they can monitor their own progress in the program and gain satisfaction when they meet attainable goals. While word count goals are fun to reach, we must focus on the ultimate goal, which is to build excellent life-long readers who read because they love to read! We recommend students select books that are 100 points below or 50 points above a student’s SRI lexile level. Books should be age appropriate. Just because a book falls within a student’s lexile range, does not mean it’s appropriate. Please see the Media Center’s Edline page and click the Reading Counts related link listed under “News.”Parents should set aside time to discuss what students have read and how they feel about what they have read. It is the conversations about what we are reading which are most important between parents and children. The Reading Counts Code of Ethics, featured below, was developed by Timber Trace students in third, fourth, and fifth grades. On Unix-like operating systems, the tcpdump collects a raw dump of network traffic. This page covers the Linux version of tcpdump. Description Tcpdump prints out a description of the contents of packets on a network interface that match the boolean expression specified on the command line. It can also run with the -w flag, which causes it to save the packet data to a file for later analysis, or with the -r flag, which causes it to read from a saved packet file rather than to read packets from a network interface. Tcpdump will, if not run with the -c flag, continue capturing packets until it is interrupted by a SIGINT signal (for example, when the user types the interrupt character, often control-C) or a SIGTERM signal (often generated with the kill command); if run with the -c flag, it captures packets until it is interrupted by a SIGINT or SIGTERM signal or the specified number of packets are processed. When tcpdump finishes capturing packets, it will report counts of the following: packets "captured" (the number of packets that tcpdump has received and processed); packets "received by filter" (the meaning of this depends on the OS on which you're running tcpdump, and possibly on the way the OS was configured; if a filter was specified on the command line, on some OSes it counts packets regardless of whether they were matched by the filter expression and, even if they were matched by the filter expression, regardless of whether tcpdump has read and processed them yet; on other operating systems it counts only packets that were matched by the filter expression regardless of whether tcpdump has read and processed them yet, and on other OSes it counts only packets that were matched by the filter expression and were processed by tcpdump); packets "dropped by kernel" (this is the number of packets that were dropped, due to a lack of buffer space, by the packet capture mechanism in the OS on which tcpdump is running, if the OS reports that information to applications; if not, it will be reported as 0). On platforms that support the SIGINFO signal, such as most BSD operating systems (including macOS X) and Digital/Tru64 UNIX, it will report those counts when it receives a SIGINFO signal (generated (for example) by typing the "status" character, often control-T; although on some platforms, such as macOS X, the "status" character is not set by default, so you must set it with stty to use it) and continues capturing packets. Reading packets from a network interface may require you have special privileges; see the pcap (3PCAP) manual for details. Reading a saved packet file doesn't require special privileges. I used standalone ATmega chip instead of arduino board to keep the form factor small because form factor is a vital issue for wearable devices. You will get several tutorial on the Internet how to program standalone ATmega chip using Arduino board or if you buy bootloaded ATmega328 microcontroller then you can program it just replacing the chip from the Arduino Uno board. After replacement put your new chip into the Arduino board and program it. After programming detach it from the board and use it in your circuit. Step 4: Programming ATmega328P Microcontroller With Arduino UnoThe complete Arduino program is attached herewith. You may need to calibrate the MPU sensor for getting accurate result. you may also required to adjust the threshold values used in the program. Is 10 bit, then the default value read by the analog inputs will be 512. The ADC counts will be 512 for the potentiometer in the resting position. In the above image, you can see the ADC counts you can expect at different shaft positions. When you move the shaft forward, the X-axis potentiometer stays idle, but the Y-axis potentiometer moves all the way forward. Hence the ADC counts for the X-axis and Y-axis are 512 and 1024, respectively. The joysticks will also have a momentary switch present which you can use for specific applications. Hence, a single joystick is sometimes all you need to complete various tasks. The above image shows an electrical representation of a two-axis joystick. You can also see the switch option. Notice that there is a ten kOhms potentiometer inside the joystick. Not all the joysticks will have ten kOhms. It doesn’t matter since what we read as the analog voltage is only the relative difference in the voltage. Let us see the pinouts of a commonly available joystick.Sl. The pin goes low when the switch is pressedYou need two analog input pins and a digital input pin on the Arduino to complete the connection. You can use any of the two Analog inputs on the Arduino UNO.Arduino UNO has six analog input pins labeled A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, and A5. Note: Though I said that the ADC would read 512 counts when the potentiometer is idle, it will not be precisely halfway. You can see an offset of 5 or 10 counts. Hence, you can calibrate all three positions: extreme left, extreme right, and idle. While calibrating the joystick, take enough readings and average them to find the offset. I recommend taking at least 100 counts. This helps to remove noise and choose a better offset correction value.Let’s see the calibration for the X-axis potentiometer. Keep the joystick idle (center Position)Read the ADC analog value.Make sure that the reading is between 500 to 520. This is to ensure that the position of the shaft is in the expected position/stateKeep adding the readings to a variable.Repeat steps from 2 to 4 for 100 timesCompute the average (Total sum / 100)Store the new “mid” value.
