When checked, Aid4Mail bypasses locally downloaded mail (stored in OST files) and collects mail directly from the remote account (i.e. Exchange or IMAP server). This option affects which hidden folders are shown by the “Include hidden system folders”. Note that collecting mail from a remote server is a lot slower than from a local OST file. However, an OST file may not reflect the contents of the account on the server, either because it hasn’t been synchronized or because it’s configured to purge older mail.Adds “MapiCategories” search operator to email section. Use it to search category keywords assigned to emails in Outlook. This feature works with the following source formats: Outlook profiles, PST and MSG files with the “Process using Outlook” option checked. Users prevent sensitive email messages and other Office content, such as documents and worksheets, from being forwarded, edited, or copied by unauthorized people. In Outlook, users can use IRM to mark email messages with "Do not forward," which automatically restricts permission for recipients to forward, print, or copy the message. In addition, you can define customized IRM permission policies in Office for your organization's needs and can deploy the new permission policies for users to use with email messages or other Office documents. I've tested a method of getting old e-mail back into outlook using the MAPI connector. Some users here use POP and we needed to know how to pull those old e-mails back into outlook after we've set up the account for MAPI.The first step is to back up the old pst (obviously). Next you want to go into Control Panel | Mail and delete the old profile and create a new one. Set it up using the MAPI connector as normal until you get to the screen that allows you to "Enable Advanced configuration". This will be a checkbox in the bottom of the MAPI connector configuration window. Check that then click on connections and check "Download Entire Messages". Finish the account creation and open outlook. Give outlook time to open and sync, if lots of stuff was previously stored on the server in some way this may take awhile. Once outlook is responsive again click on "Inbox". I'd click "MailEnable | Check Folder for New Messages" just to be sure you're synced with the server properly. Now go to File | Import and Export | Import from program or file | Personal file folder (.pst) Find the pst file you're restoring and under options select replace duplicates. Now select "Inbox" and/or the folders you'd like to import ONLY. You can check "include subfolders" and you may have to repeat the import to get only those folders you want to be pulled across. You'll want to "Import those items into the same folder in: NAME HERE (mailbox@postoffice)"Now click Finish. If you have a lot of old mail this may take awhile, you may see status bars pop up and disappear periodically. Don't worry ... it's doing it's thing this is just going to take some time. Eventually you'll be brought back to a responsive outlook with all of your old e-mail in it.This has been tested on Windows XP running Outlook 2003

Gregorio Posts: 28 Joined: Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:53 am [UPDATE] Outlook connector not downloading new emails Hi,This problem is in relation to the late emails post made here: appears the ME MAPI Connector (v1.33) for Outlook seemingly picks and chooses what newly arrived emails to download, for a period of time. Then leaves a small scatter of undownloaded emails on the server. Now if I log in using webmail, I can see all of the emails Outlook and the Connector didn't download. These new emails can sit for hours as well (and seemingly up to 24 hours). And, I'd never know about them unless I log into webmail. Also, surprisingly, using "Check folder for new messages" doesn't necessarily work. Nor does "Refresh folder list".Thanks guys,Greg Last edited by gregorio on Sun Feb 20, 2011 1:38 am, edited 1 time in total. gregorio Posts: 28 Joined: Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:53 am Re: [UPDATE] Outlook connector still not downloading new emails Post by gregorio » Sun Feb 20, 2011 1:44 am Hi Ian,I've installed the 1.34 MAPI client, and still, not all of the emails are being downloaded via Outlook. And, I can still see the emails (received 8+ hours ago, for example) in Webmail. But they aren't downloaded in Outlook. Again, Outlook seems to still pick and choose which emails to download, and not download.Thank you,Greg gregorio Posts: 28 Joined: Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:53 am Re: [UPDATE] Outlook connector not downloading new emails Post by gregorio » Tue Apr 12, 2011 3:05 pm Hi,Another update: The problem persists (read the rest of the posts in here for more info).I'm using 1.35 version of the MAPI Connector now-- in Outlook 2010 (32-bit). And emails are still being left behind on the server, during download by the Connector. And won't all show in Outlook. These emails can sit for 8+ hours, up until next day.My customers have the same problem, and are very concerned. Refresh of the folder, it will create a new file. Now Outlook will download your emails .Warning !!! All email will be marked as unread. You have to change this afterwards in the webmail or outlook client. The Outlook connector maintains a state file so that it knows which items it has already downloaded. If extra items appear in outlook then its possible that they may be orphaned from that state file. They can be removed by forcing outlook to validate against the server and state file. This is done by turning on troubleshooting and accessing the "Reset Folder from Server" option while you have the folder selected.Server Rationalization (when not enough or duplicate items appear in webmail, imap and mapi connector0--------------------------If webmail does not see messages that exist as MAI files, then the problem may be with the server index.Deleting the _index.xml file is a last resort, and should really only be done if its corrupted in some way. A better opton is to place a file called _CHANGE.DTY in the folder. This will cause the index file to be merged rather than losing flags. The _folder.xml file can be be deleted and will be regenerated in full- (since the xml file does not contain extra information). I applied all the updates.Again, the problem is this: When you open Outlook, and, leave Outlook open—some new emails will not show up in Outlook, when they arrive. These new emails show up in Web Mail however, but do not in Outlook. You must close Outlook entirely, and reopen it, to see these new emails in Outlook.(Also, these emails are not blank emails, or emails that are unusual.)Thank you,Greg MailEnable-Ian Site Admin Posts: 9738 Joined: Mon Mar 22, 2004 4:44 am Location: Melbourne,. Using multiple Hotmail accounts is highly advantageous. It allows you to manage your correspondence faster and keep your emails well organized. Best of all, the number you can add to your profile is unlimited, so let’s see how you can incorporate your first spare Hotmail account. This entry will explain how to include a Hotmail account to Microsoft Outlook. The process is relatively straightforward, regardless of your experience with this program. You shouldn’t have any trouble adding a Hotmail account to Outlook on your Windows PC. The program features an automatic setup that lets you complete this task quickly. Here’s what you need to do:Launch Outlook and press “File,” followed by “Add Account.”If you’re using Outlook 2016, type in your email address and choose “Connect.” For Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, click “Email Account,” and type in your email address, name, password, and select “Next.”If prompted, reenter your password and hit the “OK” button.Press “Done,” and you should be able to use Outlook with your new account. This process is recommended in most cases. But if you’re an advanced Outlook user, you can also manually add a Hotmail account. There are two methods to do so.The first one works great to enter outgoing and incoming server name values, SSL settings, and port numbers. This is how it works:Start Outlook and choose “File.”Navigate to “Add Account” and type in your email address.Press “Advanced Options” and check the box that lets you set up your account manually.Hit the “Connect” button and pick the type of your account. Most users select “IMAP” in this case. The following “Account settings” section should already contain most of the settings you require. Enter the outgoing and incoming server settings and choose “Next.”Type in your password before pressing “Connect.”The second method comes in handy if you use third-party MAPI providers. Here, you’ll need to configure your provider application according to the company’s conditions.Although this process is also meant for advanced users, it’s relatively straightforward:Open your Outlook app and choose “File,” followed by “Add Account.”Type in your email address and pick “Advanced options.”Tell the system you want to set up your account manually by checking the associated box and pressing “Connect.”Navigate to “Advanced Setup” and press the “Other” button.Select the server type. Keep in mind that the “Other” button and the account type under it only appears if your MAPI provider is configured correctly.Choose “Connect,” and your third-party provider application should now launch.Complete the setup by following the instruction of your MAPI provider. How to Add a Hotmail Account to Outlook on a MacMac users can just as easily add a Hotmail account to Outlook. The steps are fairly simple:Open Outlook and head to “Preferences” or “Tools,” followed by “Accounts.”Press the plus

The problem:1. Install ME Enterprise Premium 5.x to a server2. Install Outlook 2010 on a Windows 7 machine. And, Install ME Outlook Connector.3. Create email account on server; set up new account on Outlook selecting the "MailEnable Server" from "Other" service. Use credentials used to create email account (earlier in this step).4. If not already, open Outlook, and leave it open.5. Have many emails sent to this new email account (from many different sources, and servers) throughout the day.6. In some scenarios, you may face a situation where your shared mailbox is not showing in Outlook as it should. There’s a method that might take a little longer, but it can be a helpful workaround. The issue often relates to the auto-mapping feature in Outlook, which automatically adds shared mailboxes to your account. However, as your mailbox data grows, so does the size of your Outlook data file, and if it exceeds 50 GB, Outlook might have trouble handling the shared mailbox. Here are some common troubleshooting steps you can try:Permissions: You might not have the necessary permissions to access the mailboxAdmin Configuration: There might be an issue with how the Shared Mailbox is configured on the admin side. For instance, MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface)Outlook Client Issues: In some cases, your Outlook client itself might be the culprit. A corrupt profile, outdated version, or even temporary glitches can prevent the mailbox from showing up.Here are some things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:Refresh Outlook: Sometimes, Outlook might not update immediately after a shared mailbox is added or permissions are changed. Try closing and reopening Outlook, or click on the “Send/Receive” tab and then click “Update Folder” to refresh.Restart Outlook: A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches.Update Outlook: Make sure you’re running the latest version of Outlook. Updates often include bug fixes that might address this issue.Check Outlook Web App (OWA): If the mailbox shows up in OWA but not your desktop app, it points towards an issue with the client itself.Solution 1: Check PermissionsEnsure that you have the necessary permissions to access the shared mailbox. If you don’t have the correct permissions, the mailbox won’t appear in Outlook. Shared mailboxes require specific permissions like “Full Access” or “Send As” to be visible in your Outlook. If you believe you should have access, check with your administrator.Access the AdminPortal OR from Exchange Admin Center (EAC)Solution 2: Check MAPI ConfigurationThere might be an issue with how the Shared Mailbox is configured on the admin side. For instance, MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface) might be disabled for the mailbox, preventing it from showing up in Outlook. An administrator can check this setting in the Exchange admin center.Solution 3: Add Shared Mailbox ManuallyStep 1: Open Outlook, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.Step 2: Under the Email tab, double-click on your mail to access the settings.Step 3: Click More Settings.Step 4: In the Advanced tab, enable the Download Shared folders options.Solution 4: Check for Auto-Mapping and DisableOpen Windows PowerShell on your computer, right-click it, and choose Run as administrator. In the PowerShell window, type the following command:$Credential = Get-CredentialA prompt will appear. Enter your Office 365 credentials. Now, connect to Exchange Online with this command:$ExchangeSession = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri “ -Credential $credential -Authentication “Basic” -AllowRedirectionThis command establishes a connection to Exchange Online.Use this command to import the Exchange session:Import-PSSession $ExchangeSessionOnce the connection is established and the session has started, remove the permissions to access the Shared Mailbox, use the following

For more information, see Protect sensitive messages and documents by using Information Rights Management (IRM) in Office 2016.Outlook and email protocols and serversThe primary email servers and services supported by Outlook include the following:Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3)Internet Mail Access Protocol version 4 (IMAP4)MAPI for Exchange Server (version 2007 and later versions)Exchange Active Sync for connection to services such as Outlook.com (Hotmail) to access mail, calendar, contacts, and tasksOther messaging and information sources, made possible by how Outlook uses the MAPI extensibility interface.Users can use the Contacts, Tasks, and Calendar features in Outlook 2016 without being connected to an email server.Upgrading from an earlier version of OutlookYou can install Outlook 2016 or later versions over any previous installation of Outlook.
