I didn't buy. he's throwing out these "amps" in the wild once a month like it's nothing.You can't be doing that if you really model your tube amps. That requires time for measurements, analysis and coding. If this was no big deal, Nembrini and Neural would be bombarding us with new amps once a week. The test for any emulation is whether or not it nails the hardware in terms of tone and response. That is where your critique should be focused. If you think the emulation falls short, illustrate where. I don't think there is any Neural sim claiming to emulate JCM800 like Nembrini and Amplitube so the comparison may not be appropriate. The emulation falls short, illustrate where. I don't think there is any Neural sim claiming to emulate JCM800 like Nembrini and Amplitube so the comparison may not be appropriate. Amp 2 in Nolly is a jcm 800. This one looks like a horizontal input, Neural would be a vertical input and Nembrini is a 2210. They all sound different in person. A good test for me is how the presence and master volume behave - the likes of Neural and Mercuriall have this down very well - the overall tone changes based on how these are set and it’s very interactive. Other plugins like Amplitube (and some Nembrini) don’t do an accurate job of modelling these behaviours.I haven’t tried any ML amp sims beyond the free one - they seem fine on the whole and well priced with good cabs (his method of capturing IR’s without poweramp influence is sound). I have no idea who’s coding or how it’s being done but I’d be interested as they seem to be able to release amp sims pretty quickly (but they tend to be quite simple models). I'd say neural does it better than any other digital modelerI'm not a big fan of Nolly's marshall overall - its a bit too flubby and harsh, but I can't deny they capture the poweramp saturation and compression very accurately and its impressive. Photographers are often let down by the promise of quick and easy skin retouching at the push of a button only to find the results are far less than satisfactory. Retouch4.me, an Estonia-based startup that was founded in 2020, claims to be different. Its nine plugins are hyper-focused on specific editing tasks that may not output a perfect finished result, but will make the retouching process a lot faster. “The uniquely trained neural network can identify body and face parts, clothes and background, find defects and correct them,” the company says. “The plug-ins can be used to naturally and delicately smoothen problem areas, spots, and unevenness of the skin as well as remove glares, shadows, and dirt from the pictures.” The nine tools are named Heal, Dodge and Burn, Portrait Volumes, Clean Backdrop, Eye Vessels, Eye Brilliance, Skin Tone, White Teeth, and Fabric. Heal, for example, fixes minor skin issues such as redness, Eye Brilliance is specifically designed to make eyes brighter, and Fabric — the most recent addition — is used to smooth out wrinkles in clothing. The company’s developers say they’ve spent eight years developing their own skills for photo editing and an additional two years studying deep learning in order to develop their own unique algorithms that mimic the workflow of a human professional retoucher.
