Neben den Bugfixes und einer weiteren Steigerung der Performance liegt der Schwerpunkt dieses Mal besonders in den Bereichen „Upload“ und „Föderierte Cloud“. Einen Monat nach Release der Version 14.1 hat PowerFolder nachgelegt und PowerFolder 14.2 (Client und Server) veröffentlicht – und dabei dann auch wieder zahlreiche Anregungen und Wünsche der Nutzer aufgegriffen und umgesetzt. So wurde zum Beispiel die Upload-Funktion überarbeitet; es ist jetzt möglich, auch komplette Verzeichnisbäume mit beliebig vielen Ebenen aus dem Explorer eins zu eins in PowerFolder zu übernehmen. Beim Upload werden die Dateien nun auch verzögerungsfrei angezeigt. Und schließlich wurde auch die Eingabemaske des Upload-Formulars für externe Benutzer ohne Registrierung gefixt, so dass auch diese Möglichkeit wieder zur Verfügung steht. Zudem können Nicht-PowerFolder-Nutzer nun auch wieder einfach per Mausklick in Ordner eingeladen werden; dazu reicht es aus, den betreffenden Folder über die Schaltfläche „Öffentlich machen“ zu markieren. Selbstverständlich kann diese Freigabe jederzeit ebenso leicht auch wieder zurückgenommen werden.Apropos Folder: Die Berechnung der Folder-Statistiken und Quotas wurde massiv beschleunigt; die Berechnung des genutzten Gesamtspeichers (und der Angabe, wie viel da noch zur Verfügung steht) erfolgt jetzt deutlich schneller.Vor allem für die Nutzer im Hochschulbetrieb schließlich ist interessant, dass sie mit PowerFolder 14.2 auf ihrem Rechner nun auch mehrere PowerFolder-Clients starten und so zum Beispiel verschiedenen Uni-Accounts gleichzeitig nutzen können. Überhaupt wurde in der föderierten Cloud einiges verbessert: Dateiaustausch und Einladungen zwischen den einzelnen Hochschulen, die auf PowerFolder setzen, sind jetzt – nachdem es da zwischenzeitlich einige kleinere Unstimmigkeiten gab – wieder problemlos möglich.PowerFolder 14.3 ist dann für Mitte März geplant.
